Diana and Proserpina: Nocturnal Mythologies at Villa delle Peschiere
In the western halls of Villa delle Peschiere, several frescoes depict nocturnal themes linked to the setting sun and the realm of darkness. The central figures are Diana, goddess of the hunt and lunar phases, and Proserpina, who was abducted by Pluto and taken to the underworld. This tour focuses on the interplay between the cycle of the day, the rhythms of nature, and the decorative schemes of the building, featuring the extraordinary painting by Luca Cambiaso in the Loggia di Diana.
