The general tour explores the history behind the construction and decoration of Villa delle Peschiere, illustrating the main artistic and architectural influences that have shaped the building’s present-day appearance. From the surrounding gardens, which overlook the Gulf of Genoa, visitors enter the grand halls, where they can admire the mythological decorative cycles painted in the second half of the 16th century by Giovanni Battista Castello, known as Il Bergamasco, exceptionally preserved in every room. The visit to Villa delle Peschiere is conducted by trained personnel and offers the opportunity to step inside one of the most representative Renaissance sites in Liguria, which has long been closed to the public.
