The city of Genoa was well known throughout Europe for its distinctive system of suburban villas, where the local aristocracy spent their leisure time surrounded by nature and immersed in a refined and luxurious lifestyle. The garden was the heart of villa life, featuring loggias, pathways, terraces, fountains, sculptures, large basins, and trees. Villa delle Peschiere still preserves much of its original outdoor spaces, making it possible to interpret the relationship between architecture and landscape even today. This aspect, central to Renaissance culture, is the focus of this tour, which takes place mainly outdoors.
