The Loggia di Levante is located to the east, named after the rising sun, whose rays first enter this room. Today, the space is enclosed by large windows, but originally, it was open on two sides, serving as the perfect place where architecture and nature merged. The room’s decoration was created by Giovanni Battista Castello, known as Il Bergamasco, around 1560. The painter dedicated the frescoes to Apollo, the god of the Sun and the Arts, who is depicted at the center of the ceiling, guiding his radiant and powerful chariot, symbolizing the light of day that first spreads here.
